Are You Preparing for the PSAT / NMSQT?

Mount Lebanan Academy's Learning Community

Are you preparing for the PSAT / NMSQT? If you are a Sophomore or Junior you should be taking the PSAT/NMSQT.

MARK YOUR CALENDARS! The PSAT/NMSQT is being administered on Wednesday, October 16th or Saturday, October 29th. Some schools will administer the test during school hours so check with your guidance counselors.  The Mount Lebanon Academy highly recommends that both sophomores and juniors take the test as it not only provides practice for the SAT, but it also serves as the National Merit Qualifying Test for juniors.

Are you preparing for the PSAT / NMSQT? Students, who feel that they may have an opportunity to qualify for these prestigious scholarships, should get an early reading as a sophomore in an effort to determine how to improve their scores prior to their junior year. Sophomores should also take advantage of this opportunity  to receive feedback on skills necessary for college study. In addition to gaining practice for the SAT, students can see how their performance compares with others applying for college and determine what areas they will need to strengthen prior to sitting for the SAT test.

Studies have shown that when students are well prepared for testing, they can eliminate test anxiety, increase their “test wiseness”, and improve their overall knowledge of the content being measured. Mount Lebanon Academy has been preparing students for the PSAT, SAT, & ACT for over 37 years and our teachers are well acquainted with the test. Maximize your chances of getting accepted into the college of your choice by preparing for the PSAT/NMSQT. Join our PSAT class being held on Saturday, October 12th from 9:30 AM to 2:00 PM and begin to master the strategies for the test. We look forward to helping you reach your test taking goals so register early to ensure placement in this popular class.
